Hi I Have a 06 Duramax and the code p0090 popped up so i replaced the Fuel pressure regulator and that didnt fix the problem, but while i was in there i seen the wiring harness for the fuel pressure regulator had a little cut in it so i replaced that hoping that would solver the problem but it didnt. The P0090 says it is a "Fuel quantity solenoid circuit open". P0088 is "Rail pressure signal is above maximum limit". Symptoms - when i start it, the idle is incredibly rough, feels like a clogged carb. (Maybe I could check that.....) And there is a really loud knocking to the engine. It sounds like an old Dodge when it does this.

Jun 24, 2012 · The truck showed a p0090 fuel pressure reg code. I tried replacing the mid harness and replacing the fuel pressure regulator. Truck starts up and sounds like its knocking then alms down a bit and sounds like a lb7 but fuel rail pressure stays around 20-23k there is no demand for it as the truck is idling. It's in limp at 2k hits a rev limiter. Have been having a nightmare with my 2007 lbz. Truck has 155k and has been flawless. One day blew the p0090 Code. If you're getting a p0090 code, that's for the control circuit for the fuel pressure regulator. Check the plug for the regulator to be sure it doesn't have a pin that's pushed out or something, and that its plugged in all the way.2008 2500 HD Duramax.
